Dwarf Thorin let out a loud shout.
His booming voice instantly startled all his companions, who had been absorbed in the joy of acquiring weapons.
Following his gaze, everyone looked around and realized that, without them noticing, numerous "enemies" had appeared. They were all glaring at the group with hostile intent.
"Magic Armor Constructs!"
Nancy, who was widely knowledgeable, instantly recognized what they were.
These guards, which looked like statues, were combat golems powered by metal, rock, magic runes, and cores.
They were slaughtering creations crafted by dwarf artisans. Even after hundreds of years, they could still carry out the commands set by their original masters loyally and without tiring.
These Magic Armor Constructs had bodies covered in stone armor plates and supported by dark metal frames. Faint rune energy glimmered across their joints and bodies, while red light shone in their eye sockets.
The weapons they held varied, too. Some carried enormous battleaxes, others heavy spiked maces or whips. But despite their different weapons and appearances, all the constructs radiated a chilling bloodlust.
"Get ready to fight!"
Gauss and Thorin instinctively took up positions at the front of the group, one on each side, forming a protective screen around their companions.
Any enemy trying to get through would have to face them first.
That was the advantage of having two or more frontliners.
Most of the time, one person alone could only protect a limited area. But with two or more, they could cover for each other and form a relatively solid line of defense, keeping the vulnerable Spellcasters, support members, and other ranged fighters safe behind them.
Behind them, Theron and Elton quickly cast temporary combat-enhancing Divine Arts on the two "frontliners."
"Let's smash 'em!" Thorin roared, slamming his heavy shield into the ground with a dull thud
