Everyone gathered around the giant crab leader and began enjoying the feast.
Even the dragon beast, Hefis, got a share.
Of course, Hefis's portion was limited. Otherwise, it could have eaten the entire crab all by itself.
Seeing that Gauss had only served it a few legs and one helping of roe from the middle, with no intention of giving it more, Hefis thought it over.
Then it ran off by itself to another crab carcass and roasted it with Dragon Flame. It would have to fend for itself.
Still, it was a little disappointed that the other crabs—even the larger giant crabs—didn't taste as good as the leader.
But they were still far better than goblins and kobolds, so it quietly enjoyed its meal.
Before long, the two-meter-wide giant crab had been completely devoured under everyone's "attack," leaving behind only its bare shell.
"Burp—"
Gauss even let out a rare burp.
This Level 5 giant crab was packed with nutrients. The crabmeat and roe from the middle of its body were especially delicious, warming him all over as if he were soaking in a hot spring.
"There's something a little different about this Iron Claw Giant Crab Leader."
Gauss didn't think it was entirely due to its being a Level 5 monster or an Iron Claw Giant Crab.
Just as every person had their own unique qualities, other creatures and monsters had special traits of their own, too.
The other members of the party had enjoyed their meal just as much.
Seeing them full and drowsy, Gauss felt like taking a nap himself. But with only the last 22 monsters left before his Monster Kill Count reached 8,000, his motivation surged again.
