From last night until dusk today, he had spent nearly all his time out hunting monsters at an intense pace.
Even someone as physically robust as he was couldn't help feeling worn out.
But when he saw his name finally at the top of the rankings, he couldn't deny how happy he was.
So much for people's competitive spirit.
Gauss put his hands on his hips and shook his head.
"That's incredible."
"You finally made it to first place." Alya watched the rankings, looking proud as if she'd earned the achievement herself.
"Finally? It only took the captain a day." Theron smiled and shook his head.
"This is where Lord Gauss belongs." Albenna nodded along.
Didn't his teammates know just how capable Gauss was, even if nobody else did?
When it came to hunting monsters, he was practically a monster himself.
Until there was a clear gap in their levels of strength, they couldn't imagine what kind of rival could beat Gauss at this.

"Herbert's score changed again!"
Just as Gauss and the others were about to turn and leave, the rankings shifted once more.

After updating his points, Herbert had reclaimed the top spot.
Gauss's 907 points had fallen back to second place.
Quite a few people in the hall turned to look at Gauss and his companions.
Clearly, many of them already knew who Gauss was.
But none of them looked as if they were waiting to see him make a fool of himself.
Everyone knew that someone who could briefly claim the top spot after just one day could take it back as easily as eating or drinking.
Some people got a perfect score because that was
