Chapter 364: Divinity Factor
"Whew—"
The dust settled.
A pungent stench filled the entire underground town.
Gauss took several deep breaths.
He tossed one of the magic olives Alya had grown into his mouth.
"Beast Tracking: Goblin."
Gauss scanned the surrounding area. After confirming there were no surviving goblins underground, at least, he put away his water sword.
The ground had already become a river of blood.
Corpses lay scattered haphazardly, with severed hands, fingers, and eyeballs strewn everywhere. If anyone had accidentally stumbled in at that moment, they might have thought they'd wandered into some kind of horrifying hell.
Even the dwarves looked less than pleased.
Their animal instincts made them feel an uncontrollable revulsion at such a bloody scene.
As they made their way to Gauss, they did their best to avoid stepping on any of the indescribable bits of flesh.
Then there were the humans—especially Gauss, who had killed the most goblins. He looked completely unfazed, as if he weren't a terrifying killer who had just slaughtered over a thousand goblins, but a retired old man who had simply spent a quiet afternoon pruning plants in his garden.
Though he'd spent a little energy and the hem of his clothes was slightly dirty, his expression was relaxed, even carrying the sense of accomplishment that came after a hard day's work.
"Gulp—"
Bruno and his companions swallowed instinctively.
Could the adventurer Gauss he'd hired be some kind of bloodthirsty psychopath?
He looked more like a monster than the goblins did.
Had they just escaped the wolf's den only to walk into the tiger's lair?
Fortunately, Gauss put away his weapon and repeatedly used Prestidigitation to clean himself. His terrifying aura softened considerably, and he seemed to turn back into the friendly, exemplary adventurer they knew.
"Is it over?"
