Gauss didn't think much of Albenna's request.
She was probably just curious about the magic academy and wanted to tag along and have a look.

Her features were still largely the same, but they seemed to have been subtly refined, bringing her a step closer to the traits of an "Elf."
If every level brought more changes, then after a few more levels, she might be no different from a true pureblood Elf.
The thought left Gauss feeling a little envious.

Even without seeking out any special means, pureblood High Elves generally lived for more than a thousand years. Gauss had even read stories about Elves who lived for tens of thousands of years.
