Timbel, T0-Rank Adventurer
Thanks to the map crystal ball, Gauss had no trouble making his way through the second floor.
Along the way, he unexpectedly acquired two new entries in the Common Monster Codex.
Compared with the outside world, rare monster species did indeed seem more likely to appear in the maze.
The group arrived safely at the entrance leading from the second floor to the third.
Unlike the entrance from the first floor to the second, nobody was lingering here.
That was understandable, though. The entire maze was like an inverted triangle with increasingly strict levels: the farther in you went, the fewer people remained.
Or rather, the journey from the second floor to the third already weeded out plenty of people hoping to coast along.
Gauss and his companions had made it look easy, but that was because they vastly outclassed the monsters on the second floor. For ordinary low-level adventurers, reaching this point without well-coordinated teammates would be no easy feat.
Of course, some might think they could ask someone to escort them and temporarily team up with a few strong companions. That was certainly possible. But unless there was enough in it for them, most adventurers wouldn't want to bring along dead weight. They'd be gambling with their own lives and those of their teammates.
When all was said and done, strength still ruled the world of adventurers. Those who relied on clever shortcuts rarely got far.
After a brief rest, the group soon headed down the tunnel.
The relatively narrow stairway reeked of blood, perhaps left behind by those who had passed through earlier. But nearly every member of the Red Dragon Group was a seasoned adventurer, and the smell of blood was an everyday thing to them.
After about ten minutes in the tunnel,
