The Snake King
Everyone present heard the sound almost simultaneously.
The next moment, Gauss quickly cast Any Door several times and arrived in front of the cave.
But the scene before him immediately made his heart leap into his throat.
The cave, which had been incredibly sturdy, had collapsed. When they had chosen this place, he and Theron had specifically looked for a cave with exceptionally hard soil to avoid the risk of an unexpected cave-in.
And when he had come here an hour ago, he hadn't noticed anything unusual.
Yet now, it had collapsed after all.
There was nothing they could do about it. Theron's innate snake nature made him fond of cool, shadowy places like caves, so he had naturally chosen a similar place to break through.
Gauss had no time to regret it.

The scene inside soon unfurled before his eyes like a painting.
He saw the cave buried beneath massive rocks.

Gauss breathed a sigh of relief when he heard Theron's heart still beating slowly.
At least there were signs of life.
With Theron's physique as a Level 5 Professional and a Half-snake person, any injuries that weren't too severe—especially those that weren't fatal—could generally be treated.
The Red Dragon Group was now full of talented people. It was no longer like Gauss Squad, where Theron had been their only healer.
And there were no other creatures nearby besides Theron, so it seemed the cave-in had been an accident.
Gauss let out a long breath.
Just as he was about
