Plop!
A clump of sticky, dark-green little creature bounced onto the path before Gauss, blocking his way.
Gauss stopped and looked down, only to find an old acquaintance.
Slime Slimes were not particularly common near human settlements, yet there seemed to be quite a few of them in Emerald Forest.
One would jump out every few steps.
Puff!
Upon spotting Gauss, this uninvited guest, the Slime Slime suddenly compressed its limp body against the ground. Then, using the rebound, it leaped high into the air, seemingly intending to land right on Gauss's head.
Swish!
Gauss drew his Rapier and swept it in a half-moon arc before him, then nimbly hopped two steps back.
Splat!
The slime lunging through the air had its core precisely cleaved apart by the sharp blade.
Its entire body instantly turned into a puddle of foul-smelling slime, splashing down onto the ground before Gauss.
"Slime Slime *1 killed."
"Monster Kill Count: 180"
Gauss picked up the Slime Gel that had congealed into a lump on the ground and placed it in the small pouch at the side of his backpack.
It was worth several dozen copper coins—enough for a meal. He could not waste it.
It was clear that the monsters in Emerald Forest were truly enthusiastic.
It was merely a slime, yet even alone, it had dared to brazenly attack him.
Gauss raised an eyebrow.
He suddenly felt that the monsters in the forest seemed far more aggressive than those outside.
Still, that was not a bad thing. These low-level little monsters came one at a time, and no matter how many there were, they were simply delivering themselves to him.
He would welcome them all.
After casually dealing with the crazed little slime, he checked the map again and continued down the forest trail.
