Ever since Li Yuanming ascended to the position of imperial lord, he had made no small number of contributions to the Fengyin Sacred Dynasty. Thus, both officials and commoners of this generation held him in esteem and admired him. Yet among the many princes beneath his knee, not one could truly be called wise and virtuous.
Among all those princes, the one Li Yuanming valued and nurtured most was naturally his eldest son, Li Chengtai. But Li Chengtai was unlike Li Yuanming; his cultivation talent was utterly ordinary. Thus, although Li Yuanming raised him with care, he did not favor his eldest son. Instead, he preferred his youngest son, who resembled him most.
Perhaps he had never felt a father's love, or perhaps there were other reasons. Li Chengtai had become so desperate for swift success that he did not hesitate to dig at the foundations of the Fengyin Sacred Dynasty to strengthen himself. His previous use of the Human Race's supreme treasure, the Map of Rivers and Mountains, to trade with others proved as much. One had to know that the Map of Rivers and Mountains symbolized the reappearance of dragon qi, yet Li Chengtai still treated it as nothing.
Li Chengtai did not value the supreme treasure that symbolized the realm, and the gifted talents of the world understood that he himself—and perhaps even the realm—would be treated no differently in his eyes. Even Li Chengtai, whom the Fengyin Sacred Dynasty had painstakingly nurtured, was like this. The other princes had caused even more infuriating troubles in their usual treatment of the countless citizens of the Fengyin Sacred Dynasty.
Aside from the youngest prince, who was still young and had done nothing yet, the rest would likely have deserved death were it not for their status as princes.
