Ch. 361Zhenyuanzi took the Hong Meng Purple Qi and ground away the Sanqing's Three Corpses
Plot points and events
- Laozi, Yuanshi, and Tongtian agree to give up their Hong Meng Purple Qi and entrust Zhenyuanzi with removing it. They lower their defenses and sit beneath the Six Paths Reincarnation Tree, on the platform by the Reincarnation Disk.
- Zhenyuanzi combines his Primordial Chaos Dao power with the Earthly Dao’s Reincarnation Authority. Using Reincarnation’s power to cleanse and return things to their origins, he carefully loosens the purple qi’s ties to the Sanqing’s primordial spirits without damaging them.
- After a delicate process, he draws a strand of purple qi from each of the three. He seals all three inside a protected Chaos space within the Book of the Earth.
- Zhenyuanzi then turns to the Sanqing’s seven already-severed Three Corpse incarnations: three belonging to Laozi, two to Yuanshi, and two to Tongtian. These powerful, semi-independent incarnations remain bound to their originals by deep karmic ties.
- Unfurling the Book of the Earth, Zhenyuanzi creates a Chaos-returning vortex that can break things down to their origins. He joins its power with Reincarnation’s ability to end old attachments, forming a gray radiance that descends over the seven incarnations. The chapter ends as this process begins.
Character developments and interactions
- Zhenyuanzi displays exceptional control and understanding of the Earthly Dao, Chaos, and Reincarnation. He acts as both protector and precise spiritual healer, first removing the purple qi without harming the Sanqing and then preparing to address the more dangerous incarnations.
- The Sanqing show profound trust by dropping all defenses. Losing the purple qi brings them brief regret and emptiness, but also a sense that their primordial spirits have become clearer and more their own.
- Laozi feels the separation most strongly because of his higher cultivation and longer bond with the purple qi.
- Yin Yang, Hong Yun, and Nuwa watch silently. Nuwa, especially attuned to Creation and Vitality, recognizes the subtlety of Zhenyuanzi’s work.
Significant themes
- Trust and vulnerability: The Sanqing’s willingness to expose their spirits makes Zhenyuanzi’s intervention possible.
- Freedom from imposed ties: The purple qi represents both great opportunity and a binding Heavenly Dao connection; removing it brings a sense of spiritual release.
- Transformation and return to origins: Earth, Chaos, and Reincarnation are presented as forces that can cleanse, dissolve attachments, and remake what already exists.
- Control over power: Zhenyuanzi’s success depends not on brute force but on precision, restraint, and deep understanding.
