The Calamity Abyss began as Jiang Ming's True God-level soul talent. It was created from despairing experiences, extracting and enhancing their will-crushing essence to form layered mental hells. Its first documented layer, Starlight Grinding Hell, recreates the destructive pressure of the Cosmic Sea's Starlight Layer as an endless torrent of solidified starlight 128.

Unlike a fixed secret technique, the abyss grows through accumulated experiences and the thoughts of living beings. Jiang Ming discovers that thoughts from different civilizations can be absorbed as nourishment, increasing both the number and quality of abyss layers while tempering his own will 143 146.
