The wicked fought with wicked methods.
Yu Xing pulled the head off a puppet. He was just about to pull off the controller's head, too, when he glanced around and realized the man had vanished.
The man was like a wisp of shadow, silently blending in among the white puppets he had brought. He was clearly wearing red cloth shoes and a blue cloth outfit, yet he seemed to have disappeared. Yu Xing couldn't pick him out at a glance.
At the same time, the expressions on the puppets' faces changed from smiles to vicious grimaces. Unless Yu Xing was seeing things—
Had he just seen a few puppets turn from solid to incorporeal and pass right through the wall?
And apart from the puppets passing through the wall into the courtyard, the number outside didn't seem to have decreased either. In other words, the puppets seemed to be multiplying endlessly, with the controller among them.
Yu Xing grew interested. He stopped attacking the puppets and insisted on finding the controller's location directly.
He even had the leisure to glance back.
The white puppet shadows seeped through the wall like mist. In the blink of an eye, they reappeared inside the courtyard and lunged at the people there, their faces twisted into exaggeratedly vicious grimaces.
They seemed to have no fixed target, lunging at whoever was nearest. But in reality, most of the puppets were heading for the Sea Yao. One of them rushed toward her at high speed, trying to flip up her conical hat.
It seemed Master of Ten Thousand still cared about the Feng family's young lady who had disappeared for several years. Was it only because of her unusual status, or was there some other reason?
The Sea Yao felt a chill run down her back.
