After Zeng Lai answered, he realized Yu Xing hadn't commented. He instinctively turned to look at him.
Yu Xing's face was slightly flushed, as if he'd come across something that excited him immensely and sent his emotions surging. He even looked a little unhinged.
Yikes.
He'd actually sensed a subtle difference between the Yu Xing in this instance and the one he'd known before. If this were the normal Yu Xing, he'd be teasing his teammates and trading barbs with them right about now... So what was he getting excited about?
Well, it was probably a lingering side effect from the previous instance.
Broken Mirror's teammates obviously couldn't tell an outsider about their leader's side effects, so Zeng Lai only had a vague idea of Yu Xing's condition. He knew Yu Xing wanted to eat ghosts, but not that his perceptions had changed too, or that he wanted to drink human blood.
Then Carlos said, "Captain, I did you a solid, right? If we hadn't gone to experience the cemetery ourselves, all those crows beneath the graves wouldn't have come out."
Or, to put it another way, the tombstones wouldn't have spawned so many crows that blended right into the cemetery. That meant there would've been far less food.
