Yu Xing was a little curious about Nightmare's perspective, so he quietly activated his Spiritual Eye.
Deep, shadowy blue slowly spread across his pupils like freezing ice, and wisps of black energy immediately filled the shabby room.
Thin strands of black energy stretched in from every direction and passed through the walls. Judging by their flow, they all eventually converged on a spot in the bedroom.
"Wow, there's so much ghostly energy." Yu Xing muttered, getting up to walk to the window and look outside.
His Spiritual Eye excelled at detecting anything supernatural: ghostly energy, deathly energy, the stench of blood, even remnants of formations and images formed by resentment.
So, in his eyes, the world was dim and lifeless. The black energy in the room was only the tip of the iceberg; outside the window, it was even thicker.
The townsfolk coming and going were no different from before, following the paths of their daily lives. Some wore smiles, while others hurried along, chilled to the bone. The only difference was that each person had a cloud of black mist drifting upward from them. A small portion dispersed into the streets and alleys, while most floated toward the sky, where it gathered into a dark mass that even covered the sun.
This was... ghostly energy formed from a mixture of negative emotions and the aura of death. Just from what he could see, Yu Xing could already call this town a "ghost town."
But he still couldn't see what Nightmare saw. The rising ghostly energy existed in the realm of illusion, and his Spiritual Eye couldn't pierce through this grand facade to reveal the truth.
Yu Xing didn't mind. Every discipline had its specialty. The Ghost Tree's power simply wasn't capable of this, and he couldn't demand the impossible.
