The Maid's Eyes

Everyone could sense the threat hidden in those unfinished words.

Gu Xing and Bugui immediately bristled with hostility and readied themselves to respond.

"Don't get worked up." Yan Li held out an arm, though it was unclear whether he meant to stop them or block the threat from Doctor.

"It was too dark around us just now. We really couldn't see a thing." Able to move freely in the darkness, he lied with his eyes wide open, making his stance clear. "Do whatever you want. The guide found out, but that has nothing to do with anyone else."

Only then did Doctor look away. He smiled at Yu Xing. "See? Nothing's going to happen."

As soon as he finished speaking, a hand pushed open the dust-covered private room door. Medusa's striking face was still exquisite, but her expression was hard to describe. "So this is why my clues were destroyed before I'd even seen half of them?"

Behind her, Silver Sparrow and the deducer known as Hanging Ghost came out close on her heels. Clearly, they had gathered together because of the sudden upheaval.

For some unknown reason, the resentful corpse from the Fallen Path hadn't appeared.

Maybe it was already dead.

With the illusion shattered, Never Forget Dwelling had lost its eerie, bone-chilling atmosphere. All that remained were bloodstains and cobwebs, abandoned by time. Medusa disdainfully wiped the dust from her fingers with a handkerchief she carried, then walked over.

"Doctor, no wonder I felt a force pushing me away when I tried to investigate the hospital during the day." She looked at the man in the white coat, understanding dawning. "Turns out you didn't want me going in."
