Background / History

The Time Ghoul initially targets Chen Yu through a scarlet Blood Pupil. The Anomaly Era identifies it as a High-Dimensional Top Ghoul and warns that meeting its gaze allows it to claim the victim’s time. Chen Yu rapidly ages as each movement of its minute hand steals three years of his lifespan. 2

Unable to control it conventionally, Chen Yu eats the Time Ghoul’s eye in desperation. The system expects him to die from the power overload, but he survives and gains the Time Ghost Eye’s temporal abilities instead. 2

The Time Ghost Eye develops through repeated devouring. It gains faster reversal and acceleration after consuming the Ghost Fetus, reaches Level 12 through the Ghost Infant’s energy, and unlocks Time Fault. 17 60

By the time Chen Yu confronts the anomaly in the nearby apartment, the Time Ghoul is completely dominated. Its Ghost Domain can halt time over a large area, while its restart function rewinds Chen Yu to a point before death. 74

The Time Ghoul becomes more complete after absorbing the Stalker Ghoul’s temporal energy, forming a second hand that plunders the time of other anomalies. Further temporal fragments create Time Ghost Seals, including the “Son,” Ox, and Tiger seals. 77 106 178 180

When externally manifested, the Time Ghoul resembles a bizarre eyeball with a clock-like pupil. Its form changes as it acquires further temporal components. 73 106
