On the way back to school.
The taxi crawled through the slow traffic, a checkpoint set up by SWAT ahead.
"Gotta queue up again," the driver grumbled. "How many checkpoints have we passed today?"
Lin Mo looked out the window. Ahead, the intersection was blocked by a roadblock.
Six police cars formed a semi-circle, sealing off the road, their red and blue lights flashing silently.
At least fifteen SWAT officers, fully armed with riot shields and assault rifles, were inspecting vehicles one by one.
The atmosphere was grim, as if even the air had frozen.
"What's going on today?" the taxi driver muttered softly. "It was fine when I came out this morning..."
He hadn't finished speaking.
BANG--!!
A deafening explosion!
The black SUV being inspected ahead had its front passenger door suddenly blow open from the inside!
The entire door flew outwards as if hit by a cannonball, smashing into a police car five meters away!
BOOM!!
The side of the police car instantly caved in, and all the glass shattered.
"Target acquired! Open fire! Open fire!"
The SWAT captain roared hoarsely.
Almost as he shouted, a figure shot out of the SUV.
It was a lean man, around thirty years old, with a buzz cut and a black jacket, his eyes as cold as knives.
His speed was so incredible that most people present could only see a blur of afterimages--
Two seconds for a hundred meters!
A terrifying speed nearly five times that of a normal person!
Rat-a-tat-tat--!
Over a dozen assault rifles opened fire simultaneously, weaving a dense net of bullets.
But what happened next was something all the witnesses would remember for the rest of their lives.
The man weaved through the hail of bullets, his movements as fluid as if he were strolling in his own backyard.
His body twisted at unbelievable angles, dodging, bullets grazing his clothes, with only a few hitting him--
Thud thud thud!
The bullets struck him with dull thuds.
Lin Mo's pupils contracted sharply.
With his Level 10 Attributes, his extraordinary dynamic vision allowed him to see clearly:
After the bullets hit the man's body, they only embedded into his thick muscle layer. The bullets deformed but did not penetrate!
Blood seeped out, at most an inch deep, not even affecting his movement!
"You're asking for death."
The man spat out two cold words and stopped abruptly.
He stomped his right foot down hard.
Crack--!
The concrete road cracked, and gravel flew.
The next second, he moved.
Not towards the SWAT officers, but towards a parked car on the roadside.
He grabbed the underside of the car with both hands!
"Lift!!"
The family sedan, weighing 1.5 tons, was actually lifted entirely by him with his bare hands!
"My god..." the taxi driver murmured, stunned.
Inside the car, Su Wanqing covered her mouth, her eyes wide.
BOOM--!!
The car tumbled several times in the air before crashing down on the most densely packed area of SWAT officers!
"Scatter!!" the SWAT captain roared, his eyes bulging.
But it was too late.
The car tumbled through the air, its shadow rapidly descending.
"BANG!!!"
A deafening roar.
The car smashed onto the ground, crushing three SWAT officers who couldn't dodge in time.
The impact force of one ton, plus the car's own weight, was more than a human body could withstand.
Blood gushed from under the car, instantly dyeing the road red.
"Xiao Wang! Old Li!" a SWAT officer yelled.
The man's expression was blank, his movements relentless.
He lunged to the side of another police car, grabbing the edge of the door with both hands.
"Riiiiip--!"
A piercing sound of tearing metal.
The entire car door was ripped off as if it were paper!
The torn edge was jagged, revealing internal wiring and steel plates.
"Go."
With a flick of his wrist, the car door spun through the air like a giant throwing dart!
"Swoosh--!"
A SWAT officer aiming his gun was cut in half.
The car door acted like a guillotine, slicing through his body.
His upper and lower halves separated, spraying blood and internal organs everywhere.
"Monster! It's a monster!" a young SWAT officer screamed in despair, his finger trembling on the trigger.
Bullets poured out, but the man was no longer there.
He appeared on the sidewalk, flicking his toe to lift a 30-centimeter square granite paving stone.
He grabbed it with one hand.
"Whoosh--!"
The paving stone flew through the air at supersonic speed!
"Pfft!"
Another SWAT officer's bulletproof helmet was hit.
The helmet, along with the skull inside, exploded!
Red and white matter splattered onto the faces of his comrades behind him.
"Sniper! Sniper, shoot!" the captain roared into the walkie-talkie.
"Bang!"
A muffled gunshot echoed from a distant rooftop.
A 7.62mm sniper round tore through the air, aimed directly at the man's head.
The man tilted his head slightly.
The bullet grazed his cheek, leaving a bloody scratch.
He touched his face, his eyes growing colder.
"Annoying."
Before he finished speaking, he bent his knees and stomped on the ground!
"Boom!"
A shallow crater appeared in the road.
The man shot forward like a cannonball towards a concrete bollard by the roadside.
It was a barrier used to block vehicles, cylindrical, about a meter high, half a meter in diameter, made of concrete, weighing at least three hundred pounds.
He scooped up the bollard with both hands.
Turning, he looked towards the SWAT officers.
"All of you die."
The bollard left his hands.
The three-hundred-pound concrete block, carrying an initial kinetic energy of one ton, tumbled and roared through the air.
"Dodge--"
Before the captain could finish speaking.
"RUMBLE!!!"
The bollard smashed into a police car.
The stone block smashed down from the car roof, crushing the entire police car into a V-shape. The fuel tank ruptured, and gasoline spilled out.
The two SWAT officers inside were reduced to pulp before they could even scream.
But it wasn't over yet.
After smashing through the police car, the stone block continued with undiminished force, rolling toward another group of SWAT officers.
"Ah--!!"
Amidst screams, two SWAT officers were crushed, their lower bodies a bloody mess.
