"Sister Yinyin!"
A Bulletproof Car pulled up. A petite figure jumped out and ran over with her arms spread wide like a delighted little swallow, giving Xu Yinyin a huge hug.
"Sister Yinyin, you're finally here! I missed you so much."
"I missed you too, Vier."
Xu Yinyin hugged the petite girl, unable to hide her smile.
"Oh, right, Sister Yinyin! My brother's here too!"
Ai Weier nestled against Xu Yinyin until she'd had her fill of affection. Only then did she remember her own brother.
As she spoke, a tall figure walked over.
"Miss Xu, it's been a long time."
The man was tall and wore a North Barrens Military Uniform. Despite the freezing air and snow all around them, Su Ye felt a wave of heat from him.
Was he a fire-type Ability User?
"Mr. Edward, thank you for coming to pick me up."
"Come on, Sister Yinyin, why so formal? My brother and I have been looking forward to your visit ever since we heard you were coming to the Northern Barrens!"
Ai Weier swung Xu Yinyin's arm and gave her a mischievous wink.
"Ahem!"
Edward cleared his throat, looking a little uncomfortable.
"Miss Xu, Mother was delighted to hear you were coming. She told my sister and me to prepare in advance, and reminded us to take good care of you while you're in the Northern Barrens."
Edward and Ai Weier's mother had been both a comrade-in-arms and a close friend of Xu Yinyin's mother.
After Xu Yinyin's mother lost her life in the Divine Realm, Ai Weier's mother took even greater care of the daughter her friend had left behind. She often invited Xu Yinyin to stay in the Northern Barrens when she was little and looked after both her cultivation and her daily life.
