The Rabbit Demon's body jolted in fright. She instinctively covered her ears, then turned to look.
The flames and thick smoke had just shot into the sky. A huge crater had appeared in the ground, as if it had been blasted by a grenade launcher. A large tree and the flowers and grass around it had all been reduced to ash in the explosion. Compared with her little firecrackers, the difference in power was like heaven and earth.
She turned back and looked at Xiaochán.
Xiaochán was also looking at her calmly. Her gaze was peaceful, yet seemed to gleam with a strange light.
The Rabbit Demon glanced back at the deep crater left by the explosion, then at the small pit she had made by sticking her own firecracker into the soil and setting it off. Finally, she lowered her head to look at the firecracker in her hand and froze.
After a long while, she finally pouted, turned around, and looked pitifully toward the little sports car where An Yang sat.
An Yang put away his smile and opened the car door.
The Rabbit Demon immediately walked over to him, like a child seeking comfort after being bullied.
But clearly, An Yang had no intention of comforting her.
"You've still got the nerve to play with firecrackers? Look at her! You're both demons, and the little fox is even shorter than you, yet she's never played with firecrackers!" An Yang stopped about two meters in front of her. Seeing her pitiful expression only made him angrier. "And you? You've cultivated for so long and you're still a monster who can't even do something as simple as light a fire! All you know is messing around with your wild flowers and weeds. Now you've been shown up, haven't you?
