Fifteen people set off in a grand procession.
Thorin mainly felt that the trolls posed a considerable security risk. Although their group had killed three of them, it would be best to confirm whether there were any others, so he called all the other Dwarves along. Even those who had no desire to go exploring were forced to take up weapons and torches and begin this nighttime trek.
An Yang's night vision was still excellent, and the Dwarves' wasn't bad either. They soon found the trolls' cave.
"Damn, it stinks!" Balin said.
"Cough, cough, cough!"
"We might really find something here!" Bofur said, raising his torch and walking ahead.
The Dwarves were soon astonished.
"Look at the ground!"
Everyone lowered their heads and immediately spotted the scattered gold coins covering the ground. Several chests sat beside them, all filled with gold, silver, and other treasures!
The straightforward and money-loving Dwarves were nearly dumbstruck.
"We can... We can really pick up money!"
Bofur took a deep breath and stepped forward, kicking the coins covering the ground. They immediately rang out with a beautiful jingling sound. "It seems rather shameful to leave all this lying around!"
"Looks like my premonition was quite accurate after all." An Yang shrugged. "Everyone, come take some. We might find a use for it on the road!"
"Agreed!"
The Dwarves immediately gathered around.
Thorin, however, walked straight past the coins and looked toward the weapon rack in the distance. Two swords rested on it, while the remaining slots were empty.
"These swords weren't made by trolls!" he said, uttering the same words as in the story. But Gandalf wasn't here, so he could only look toward An Yang, the only learned person present.
An Yang was nowhere near as gentle and polite as Gandalf. He said bluntly,
