Originally, the Silent Tower and Smeel Manor were on bad terms.

The Silent Tower was a steadfast academic organization that regarded knowledge as truth, at least according to the scholars within the tower.

Smeel Manor, on the other hand, was a purely power-driven organization where the academic atmosphere was not as thick, yet any means could be used for the sake of power. The laws and competition within the organization were also very cruel.

It was said that both sides were still in constant conflict ten years ago, with small-scale friction being a common occurrence and confrontations between scholars also happening occasionally. Initiates from both sides always aimed for the kill when they met on missions, and sending people to assassinate each other's newly enrolled students was even more commonplace.
