Deep-Space Attack

The bright starship dimmed, and red lights flashed.

Crew members hurrying through the corridors froze in place. Those on duty stopped too, all looking up at the same time.

"What's happening?"

"What happened?"

An Yang stood with his gun in front of the starship's glass wall, the red lights behind him almost blinding. Through the glass, he could see countless drones swarming toward the starship!

The dark depths of space had become a deadly trap!

Unfortunately, he wasn't in the command room, so he couldn't witness the ambush firsthand or see the officers' shocked expressions. But the captain reacted quickly. A thin shield enveloped the starship in the blink of an eye, and countless red lights flashed briefly through space as the attack began!

From a distance, a huge starship appeared to be facing a swarm of drones head-on, with phasers and drones crashing into each other in an endless barrage.

The battle was silent, yet dazzling and deadly.

But the Enterprise was, after all, a starship built for exploration and research, and it wasn't equipped to handle this kind of battle. Even if one shot could blow a drone apart, it barely made a difference.

From another angle, it looked more like an endless locust plague, with the massive starship as its prey!

Gradually, its counterattack grew feeble.

Boom!

A menacing drone hurtled toward the starship. Its streamlined body ended in a sharp nose, and it slammed straight into the hull before exploding against the shield.

Then came a second, a third...

One drone after another slammed into the starship, as if they cost nothing. Even more swarmed toward its warp engines. In the dizzyingly dense assault, countless explosions engulfed the entire starship in flames. Rumbles shook the hull, their vibrations traveling through the armor and reaching everyone's ears!
