Ch. 541Orochimaru is Too Dangerous
Sarutobi Hiruzen decided to transfer Orochimaru’s western battlefield credit to Namikaze Minato so Minato could compete with Uchiha Fugaku for Fourth Hokage. After Shimura Danzō angrily opposed the plan and left, Hiruzen ordered Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura to arrange the transfer secretly.
- Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura warned that Konoha needed to settle the Fourth Hokage succession, while Shimura Danzō privately planned to use evidence of Orochimaru’s human experiments to control him.
- Shimura Danzō argued that the Uchiha clan posed the greater threat and that Uchiha Fugaku’s battlefield achievements had made him a popular Hokage candidate.
- Sarutobi Hiruzen decided to give Namikaze Minato credit for defeating Sunagakure on the western battlefield, strengthening Minato’s claim to the Hokage position.
- Shimura Danzō rejected Hiruzen’s decision, argued that Orochimaru was the best candidate, and stormed out after Hiruzen reminded him that he was Hokage.
- Sarutobi Hiruzen ordered Utatane Koharu and Mitokado Homura to arrange the credit transfer without Orochimaru or the Uchiha Clan noticing.
