Though he wore no Yellow Lantern ring, a faint layer of Yellow Light bloomed spontaneously in Zhent's palm.
The energy of fear was under his control. The light formed a translucent yellow cage, imprisoning the invisible Atomica within.
Zhent tilted his head. In his timeline, he had never encountered either Ray Palmer or Ryan Choi, the two Atoms.
Perhaps during the war in which several worlds had invaded together, this world's Atom had died in some overlooked local conflict.
At the time, Zhent himself had been fighting Parallax, which had merged into his body, for control. He had been even less able to make sense of the sudden flood of invaders from other worlds.
In any case, once he had successfully merged with Parallax to a certain extent, he had wiped out every last one of those invaders.
Zhent also had no habit of asking people's names before killing them.
So he had not recognized Atomica's origins at all.
"Can shrink... an Atom?"
Zhent suddenly spoke.
He pinched Atomica in one hand while rubbing his chin with two fingers of the other.
"Theoretically, whether I've been exposed or not, Batman shouldn't be sending someone to assassinate me—"
Zhent considered it again and again, only to realize in confusion that, at this point in time, he seemingly should not have had any enemies on Earth.
Luthor might have had some connection to it, but hadn't Zhent yet had the chance to make a move against him?
On the other side, despair filled Atomica's eyes as she was gripped by the energy of fear.
The Yellow Light under his control could perform microscopic manipulation. Though it appeared transparent, the omnipresent energy filled every inch around Atomica, leaving her no room even to move a muscle or open her mouth to beg for
