Over the red desert of the Phantom Zone, a rain of blood unlike anything anyone had ever seen fell, mingled with severed limbs and shredded flesh.
The blood pattered onto the desert, staining it a little darker, only to be buried by the windblown sand a moment later.
Mia looked up, then suddenly shuddered. Turning, she nocked the last arrow in her hand and aimed at Mon-El, who was quietly approaching.
The prince of Daxam hurriedly waved his hands, indicating that he was not like those Kryptonian prisoners and had, in fact, come here with Shane.
Mia naturally trusted the Instructor's judgment, but she did not entirely let her guard down. She merely lowered the arrowhead a little.
Mon-El had no time to praise her vigilance. With both bewilderment and confusion on his face, he pointed toward the battle in the sky.
"Is your Instructor always like this?"
Off to one side, Mal leaned against a large rock the same color as the desert. He lowered his head, wiped the flecks of blood off his face, and muttered blankly.
"This is our first time seeing the Instructor like this, too. Maybe... it has something to do with his past?"
A considerable amount of curiosity immediately welled up in Mon-El.
"His past?"
After a two-second pause, Mon-El chose not to ask outright. Instead, he very wisely shook hands with Mal and Mia first, then slowly introduced himself and his background. Upon learning that he had not entered the Phantom Zone as a criminal, Mal and Mia visibly relaxed a little more.
After all, Injustice Superman had only become twisted in the last three years. Mon-El had known the Superman of the Injustice world for over twenty years.
The caliber of someone who could befriend Superman before he turned evil hardly needed
