While Tamura Hiroshi and the others were gathered together discussing, an Iwa ninja leaped over and whispered something in Kitsuchi's ear.
"The Konoha squad is dead."
Kitsuchi's expression changed. He realized something was wrong.
"Let's go take a look."
Rasa also understood that something had happened to Konoha's team.
Without hesitation, they left Takigakure and headed for the scene.
They had already turned Takigakure upside down, and there was little of value left. There was no point in staying.
They soon reached the scene, a relatively secluded spot about a hundred miles away. It looked like the team had stopped there for a brief rest.
"There are no external injuries. They were probably poisoned. Rasa-kun, your Sunagakure specializes in this sort of thing."
After crouching to examine a corpse, Tamura Hiroshi looked toward Rasa and the others.
Rasa gestured to a Puppet Master behind him. The man stepped forward and began examining the corpse. He soon had an answer.
"It was a gaseous poison. They were poisoned by inhaling it."
"There are no traces of anyone else nearby."
Jinin Akebino arrived with a few men. He had just searched the surrounding area, but found nothing.
"One of them is missing."
After looking over the bodies, Kitsuchi revealed another piece of information. He had arrived at Takigakure with this squad and remembered their numbers and appearance.
"They must have found something in Takigakure. Did they betray their allies and take it by force, or are they trying to bring it back despite being badly injured?"
Tamura Hiroshi's expression turned grave, though inwardly he marveled at how capable Black Zetsu was.
He could guess who had done it. The culprit was undoubtedly an agent Lord Danzo had planted here, and he had poisoned them to get the information.
"Konoha!"
