In the eastern theater of the Land of Fire, two groups of Konoha and Kirigakure Ninja were engaged in a small-scale battle. Each side had more than a dozen fighters, and the fighting was brutal.
Several hundred meters from the battlefield, a telescope extended through the leaves of a tree. A young boy watched the battle, studying every detail intently.
On a nearby branch, a red-haired little girl who looked about four or five swung her feet in boredom. An odd Ninja Sword with side blades was strapped to her back.
After more than ten minutes, the battle finally ended. Some had fallen for good, some were trying to treat their wounds, and others had fled, pursued by their enemies.
Konoha had the upper hand. One surviving boy, an armless teenager who was still in fairly good shape, was finishing off the fallen Kirigakure Ninja. Two other, more seriously wounded survivors were desperately trying to save themselves by stopping their bleeding.
