The middle-aged man who was actually Tamura Hiroshi's Water Clone continued speaking, stalling for time as he tried to bluff them.
"Your three sons are too young to be at the Frontline. In fact, they shouldn't be here at all—unless someone deliberately arranged for them to come, and for them to run into Kirigakure's Seven Ninja Swordsmen. Then you came straight to their rescue. That must have been arranged by someone too.
"If your sons were killed, you'd fly into a rage and fight to the death to avenge them, killing the Seven Ninja Swordsmen. Even if they weren't killed, you'd still go all out against the Seven Ninja Swordsmen.
"So you're just a pawn being used, and so are your sons. Your sacrifice would merely earn certain Konoha higher-ups some benefits and merits..."
As they listened to Tamura Hiroshi's bluff, Juzo Biwa and the others grew even more grim. Their killing intent and anger rose, while Might Duy fell silent.
He might have been honest and simple, but that didn't mean he was stupid. Now that the other man had mentioned it, he too realized something was off.
But that was secondary. Right now, the most important thing was getting Might Guy out of there before Duy's life burned away.
"Let's make a deal. I'll let your son go, and you can take him with you. I injected him with poison. If you don't get him back and treat him quickly, he'll die. You don't have much time, so decide quickly."
As if he had noticed the change in Might Duy's mood, Tamura Hiroshi's Water Clone proposed a deal.
"I'll take my son and leave."
