Before long, Lu Jun had sent her a challenge letter. Were all the new students this reckless—or was it simply that they had no sense of restraint?
Qing Yu rested her elbows on the desk and crossed her slender, fair hands beneath her chin, supporting her lovely face as she fell into thought. On the surface, she put on a frosty, indifferent expression, but inside she was mortified. Help~ Somebody say something and break the awkward silence.
Fortunately, her student council secretary, Chen Yu, reacted quickly. She slapped the challenge letter down, brimming with anger. "What kind of person does Lu Jun think he is? He hasn't even beaten the people ahead of him, and now he's challenging the chief? The nerve!"
Hearing that, Qing Yu breathed a sigh of relief. She was having a whole inner drama, her thoughts running wild. Excellent. A perfect voice double. Give her a raise!
Who would've guessed the female student council officer would hurriedly shake her head, then nervously pull another envelope from her clothes and hand it to Chen Yu.
Chen Yu stared in surprise. Looking down, she saw that it was signed by Lu Jun too.
The officer said quietly, "Senior Chen, this is his challenge letter to you."
Chen Yu was dumbfounded. She was ranked seventy-ninth on the Water Institute rankings. Why was she next?
Then her expression changed. "Wait. Did he send a challenge letter to every Intermediate Mage from the Main Campus on the Water Institute rankings?"
"Yes." The officer scratched her head. "So I guess he hasn't broken any unspoken rules."
"Besides, it's Challenge Month. According to the rules, everyone on the rankings has to accept challenges unconditionally."
As she spoke, she pulled out an envelope just like the ones addressed to Qing Yu and Chen Yu.
