In the jungle, waves of magic flared one after another.
Normally, whenever a Star Map lit up, it meant someone had been spotted. With several times as many people hunting them down, escape was all but impossible.
Some unlucky souls even handed over a badge to one group, only to run straight into another group moments later.

Meanwhile, Xu Fang and Jiang Shaoxu had it easy. He even had time to poke fun at the girl for drooling in her sleep.

Jiang Shaoxu was furious. Growing up, she'd always been doted on by either her father or her older brother. Other men could barely get a word out around her. When had she ever met a weirdo like Xu Fang?
"Haha, s-sorry."
Xu Fang put away his grin and finally got serious. "Anyway, let's find somewhere to lie low before the pursuers get here!"
The two quickly packed up and moved out.
Xu Fang wanted to leave behind the fish they hadn't finished yesterday, but Jiang Shaoxu was reluctant to waste it. Yesterday's weakness had left her shaken.
She twisted some grass into a cord and hung the dried fish from her waist. She looked just like an old man returning from a day of fishing, the fish swinging as she ran.
As they ran, both of them suddenly stopped and exchanged a glance.
"There's someone up ahead."
They hid in place. Xu Fang peeked out and saw that the newcomers were wearing the contestants' uniforms.
"They're contestants. Should we say hello?" Jiang Shaoxu asked.
Xu Fang thought it over, then nodded slightly. "Might as well. They look panicked. Maybe they've got pursuers on their heels."
