Taking the Day Off Today, and a Word About Finishing the Book

I'm taking the day off today, using one of next month's days off in advance.

I estimate I'll finish the book by the end of this month. Well, I don't want to give up this month's perfect-attendance bonus and guaranteed-pay bonus just yet.

The author has always been pretty dedicated in this regard. Apart from that one month when special circumstances got in the way, I've earned the perfect-attendance bonus every month for the past year, including over New Year's, and taken no more than two days off at a time.

I'm completely worn out this month. During the day, I'm a first-grade Head Teacher—full-time nanny, detective, judge, and school nurse all rolled into one. At night, I stay up until nearly midnight to post chapters, my heart pounding, until I'm utterly drained.

During the National Day holiday, I hope I can get some proper rest and enjoy myself.

I hope I can keep going and maintain the word count without letting the quality slip.

Also, my premium subscriptions have passed ten thousand, but unfortunately, it looks like I won't earn the "精品" badge before finishing the book. I'm still a little over a hundred average subscriptions short, and there's still a gap between me and the big names. Looks like I'll have to wait until after the book ends and hope the numbers rise on their own... I hope I can make it. There's a big difference between having that badge and not having it.

Today I'll take a little time to sort out the plot. If you have any thoughts, share them so we can discuss them—or point out any loose ends I've forgotten to tie up. A good author will surely work them into the story.
