Sword Qi Like a Dragon

Wang Xian stood beneath the tree, holding the Deer-Cutting Saber. His white robes were spotless, untouched by a speck of dust.

Outside the courtyard, Liu Piaopiao furrowed her brow and looked up at the sky. As she watched, a faint smile appeared on her face.

So that's all there is to it. I thought you could really defy the heavens.

A cold voice rang out. "We have no enmity between us. Why insist on dragging us both down with you? And when all is said and done, who will look after your friends? My younger sister doesn't want you to die by my sword, either."

Wang Xian gazed up, trying to see through the vault of heaven and discover who, above the Ninth Heaven, had waved a hand and erased his Questioning Heaven strike.

He thought for a moment, then replied, "You're overthinking this. As long as I don't want you to, you won't be able to step through this gate. What could you possibly fight me with?"

Liu Piaopiao froze, then sneered. "But your friends will be back soon. I don't believe you'll hide in this courtyard like a rat for the rest of your life."

Wang Xian was so exasperated he laughed.

He pointed a finger at the sky and smiled faintly. "I really was afraid of death once. To stay alive, I worked desperately to learn a few things... If you'd met me three years ago, you might have had a chance."

Liu Piaopiao shook her head. "I don't believe you."

Then, realizing that didn't sound right, she added, "Forget about trying to talk me out of it. I'm no fool. I'm not going to reason with you."

Wang Xian sighed and replied helplessly, "For Liu Xian'er's sake, I can make an exception and talk some sense
