But the basis for Virgin's existence was highly questionable.

People only knew that Saint Jeanne d'Arc existed in this world. As for Jeanne d'Arc's past, from when she had still been a village girl, virtually no one knew anything.

The weakness and absence of faith meant that under normal circumstances, Virgin could not, like Elizabeth Báthory, become Servants with different forms in childhood (Dragon Maiden) and adulthood (Camilla).

It would not exactly be right to call her a brutal fiend. It was simply that, from a noble's perspective, bullying a mere village girl was perfectly natural.

The only things her holy banner-spear wished to protect were Domremy Village and her past.
