Caster cleared his hoarse throat and let out a sinister chuckle.
"Hmm... is that so? I don't remember very clearly either..."
Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) rubbed her brow, looking troubled.
Not only did she have no memories of fighting alongside the Allied Forces, she had no memories from even earlier.
Whether it was her childhood in Domremy Village or the two years after joining the army, every memory of her past was blank. All she knew was that she was "Jeanne d'Arc (Alter)." Caster had told her everything else.
In other words, her rage, her hatred, and even this desire to take revenge on all of France were largely the result of Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) subconsciously following Caster's "advice."
Caster's brutality and madness after becoming a bloodthirsty alchemist had influenced Jeanne d'Arc (Alter)'s judgment almost without reservation. It was the perfect example of how one became like the company one kept. Jeanne d'Arc (Alter), who had entered the world like a newborn infant, had Caster, a deranged foster father. It was easy enough to imagine what she would grow into.
Of course, Jeanne d'Arc (Alter), born for "revenge," already belonged to the Chaotic Evil camp. As an Anti-Heroic Spirit (Avenger) created by the Holy Grail's tainted mana, she was naturally prone to extreme measures.
Even so, Caster's constant insinuations at her side had undoubtedly played no small part.
"That is exactly right, Jeanne~~~"
Caster shouted loudly, as though speaking to Jeanne d'Arc (Alter), yet also as though trying to convince himself.
At the very least, the Saint Jeanne d'Arc in Caster's eyes ought to have been like this.
Rather than being Saint Jeanne d'Arc reborn, Jeanne d'Arc (Alter) was more like the image of Jeanne that Caster, having fallen into evil, believed she should be.
Who knew what Jeanne would think
