Yamanaka Tohru sent the Uchiha who opposed the coup to the Land of Waves, while Itachi began killing the clan guards and Danzo's forces entered the compound. Tohru intercepted Obito as he tried to escape into the Kamui space-time and forced him to stay and talk.
