"We got a report from a passerby. In the end, we found a suspicious target behaving strangely on Southeast West Road. The snipers are already in position, but there are too many pedestrians on the street right now. To avoid alerting him and causing casualties among innocent civilians, we're still keeping him under surveillance. We haven't made a move yet." Bai Xiaoling spoke quickly as she started the car and drove out of the residential complex.
"A barbarian?"
"We're not sure yet, but it's very likely." Bai Xiaoling was still as capable and efficient as ever when it came to work.
Chen Shouyi nodded and looked out the window without saying anything.
It was noon, and the streets were full of office workers out to eat. Legs in all kinds of stockings made for a beautiful sight.
The car sped along. After a dozen minutes, it pulled over. Bai Xiaoling went to a public phone booth and made a call. Half a minute later, she hurried back, removed the siren from the roof, and got back behind the wheel.
"Are we close?" Chen Shouyi came back to himself and asked.
"He's on Changting Road now, about three kilometers away." Bai Xiaoling explained.
Without cell phones, even the police radio couldn't be used. Police operations were at least several times less efficient.
The car continued on. Before long, it pulled over by the roadside. Several police officers in plain clothes got out of nearby cars and greeted them warmly. "Advisor Chen, hello."
"Hello!"
Chen Shouyi nodded to each of them in turn and asked, "Where is he now?"
"Come with us. He's just up ahead!"
People streamed along the street, nearly shoulder to shoulder, completely unaware that danger was right beside them.
The group walked quickly for several hundred meters.
Then
