After sleeping until half past nine, Chen Shouyi finally opened his eyes.

He turned to look beside his pillow and found that Shell Girl had vanished without a trace.
He clearly remembered that Shell Girl had lain down too when he went to sleep in the early hours.
Fortunately, after carefully searching the corners of the bedroom for a while, Chen Shouyi spotted her. Her tiny body was crouched on the windowsill, her little mung-bean eyes peering furtively outside through a narrow gap in the curtains.

Perhaps she had been too focused. Shell Girl jumped at the sound of Chen Shouyi's voice, her whole body trembling as she nearly fell off the windowsill. "Good giant, you scared me to death!"
Then she whispered nervously, "I saw lots and lots of bad giants down there!"
"I told you, bad giants are everywhere here. All right! Stop looking and go to sleep."
"But!" Shell Girl looked as if she wanted to say something, then hesitated. "I heard three bad giants right next to us. They were talking just now."
She had probably heard his parents and sister talking that morning.
