Early the next morning, Chen Shouyi had just finished washing up.
A knock came from outside the door.
Chen Shouyi walked over and opened it.
"Chief Chen, your newspaper!" a pretty female orderly said with a smile.
She had been serving Chief Chen these past few days and had long since figured out what he was like: easygoing, mild-tempered, and so handsome that no one would ever guess he was the Chief Chen who had slain a god.
"Oh, thank you!" Chen Shouyi said. "You can just leave it outside the door from now on."
He hardly ever read newspapers. Unless his own name was in one, he had no interest in looking.
"Today's Renren Daily has a report about you. You're a great hero." The female orderly gazed boldly into Chen Shouyi's eyes, her cheeks flushed.
"Heroes are the soldiers who fear neither death nor danger, who go bravely to their deaths. What kind of hero am I?" Chen Shouyi said. He took the newspaper from her, spread it open, and skimmed it before folding it shut. He planned to read it more carefully after she left.
"Chief Chen, you're too modest. Everyone thinks you're a hero. Let me tidy up your room!" the female orderly said enthusiastically.
"Ah, there's no need!"
But before he could finish, the female orderly had already walked inside.
