A little over ten minutes later, Chen Shouyi's enormous body surfaced.

The oppressive atmosphere between heaven and earth had vanished.

"Flame God..." he murmured, his face icy.

He didn't know what kind of god the other was, but judging by its abilities, he could tell it had something to do with fire.

Just then, he felt Shell Girl struggling in his mouth. His expression froze, and he hurriedly opened it.

The tiny girl, barely a few inches tall, was like half a matchstick in his two-meter-wide mouth. He'd hardly felt her at all.

The moment he opened his mouth, the soaking-wet Shell Girl flew out and hovered in front of him. She gulped for air as her little mouth opened and closed rapidly.

Her voice came through in fragments, faint and indistinct.

Chen Shouyi realized that his vision, hearing, and sense of smell were all impaired.

He said nothing. He dismissed his armor and sent it back into his spatial storage, then returned to his normal size.

In an instant, a terrifying whirlpool formed in the sea. Before the millions of tons of water could rush together, Chen Shouyi quickly rose into the air and flew toward shore.

Shell Girl hurried after him, chattering nonstop by his ear.

One moment she was complaining that his saliva stank; the next, she was lamenting that her pretty clothes were ruined.

Her thoughts were simple, and her moods came and went quickly. Just a moment ago, she'd been shaking like a frightened dog. Now that the Flame God had left, she seemed to have forgotten everything, buzzing around happily like a little bee.

Chen Shouyi landed on the beach. His legs buckled, and he nearly collapsed.

He felt terribly weak. Looking down at himself, he saw that his entire body was charred black.
