"Good giant!"
Shell Girl had woken up. She rolled back and forth across the bed a few times, sat up, and rubbed her eyes.
"Are you hungry?" Chen Shouyi asked, pulling his thoughts back.
"Hungry!" Shell Girl said.
Chen Shouyi took some meat paste imbued with Great Divine Power from his spatial storage and set it on the table. Shell Girl hurried over and quickly began licking it up.
She rarely drank honey anymore. If it weren't for her small appetite, he wouldn't be able to afford to keep her.
By nine thirty that evening, intelligence about the "Spirit" had already been rushed over on a special plane.
After the soldiers escorting it had left,
Chen Shouyi closed the door, returned to the bedroom, and opened the thick dossier.
There were no video recordings. The footage from the electronic surveillance cameras had been stored on hard drives, which could no longer be read.
Fortunately, there were plenty of printed photographs.
Chen Shouyi picked one up and confirmed at a glance that it was him.
For an existence like this, changing appearances would have been effortless. Yet perhaps out of disdain, or perhaps out of pride, the other party had never made the slightest attempt to disguise himself.
He flipped through the photos one by one and found that the earliest record dated back five years.
"What exactly is he after?" Chen Shouyi furrowed his brow. He thought it over for a long time but couldn't make sense of it.
He went through the documents once, picked up the phone, and called the Presidential Palace.
That night, he lay in bed, unable to fall asleep for a long time.
That mysterious prophecy. Earth's fall. His own death. Even someone with nerves of steel couldn't ignore them and pretend they didn't exist.
