On the vast, boundless Tianwu Continent lay a small town forgotten by the world—Cloudhidden Town. Its mountains were clear and waters beautiful, its people simple and honest, yet it was also a tiny corner of a world where the strong reigned supreme.
Deep within the Lin family estate of Cloudhidden Town, a thin figure crouched in a corner, silently wiping a rusty iron sword in his hands. He was Lin Yi, a useless youth born with blocked meridians, unable to cultivate.
"Alas, was I destined to live like this for the rest of my life?" Lin Yi gazed at the sky, a trace of helplessness and unwillingness flashing through his eyes. Ever since childhood, he had known he was different from others. He could not cultivate martial arts like the other children and become strong. Whenever he saw the clan's younger generation sweating it out in the training grounds, his heart filled with envy and longing.
Just then, a burst of mocking laughter came from outside the courtyard. "Hahaha, look at that useless Lin Yi, dreaming of cultivation again!"
Lin Yi paused slightly, then gave a bitter smile. He had heard such ridicule and mockery far too many times. Lowering his head, he continued wiping the iron sword in his hand, as though it had become his only solace.
"Well, if it isn't Lin Yi. What's this, still polishing that broken sword of yours? Do you think you can become strong with that piece of junk?" A burly youth with a mocking grin strode into the courtyard. He was Lin Yi's cousin, Lin Hao.
Lin Yi ignored him and merely continued wiping the sword. Seeing this, Lin Hao grew even more arrogant. "Hmph, I knew you didn't have what it took! You were born with blocked meridians and simply cannot cultivate! You'll be useless for your entire life!"
A surge of anger rose in Lin Yi's heart. He lifted his head and stared into Lin Hao's eyes. "Lin Hao, don't go too far!"
"Oh? What, you useless trash want to fight me?" Lin Hao sneered and swung a fist at Lin Yi. Caught off guard, Lin Yi was knocked to the ground.
"Hahaha, with that little skill of yours, you still want to become strong? What a joke!" Lin Hao laughed as he departed, leaving Lin Yi lying alone on the ground, his heart filled with humiliation and helplessness.
Lin Yi struggled to his feet and clenched the iron sword in his hand. His heart was full of unwillingness. "Why? Why can't I cultivate? Am I really doomed to be useless for the rest of my life?"
Just then, the jade pendant on his chest suddenly emitted a faint glow. Lin Yi froze for a moment and looked down. He had worn this jade pendant since childhood, and it had never shown anything unusual. Yet now, it was glowing!
Lin Yi's heart stirred as he grasped the jade pendant in his hand. Suddenly, a warm force flowed from the pendant into his body, coursing through his meridians. Lin Yi felt his entire body shudder, as though something within him had been awakened.
"Th-this... what's going on?" Lin Yi stared at the jade pendant in his hand in astonishment, his heart filled with confusion and anticipation.
He closed his eyes and felt the flow of that power. Gradually, he discovered that it was actually helping him clear his blocked meridians! Wild joy surged through Lin Yi's heart. "Could this... be my chance to cultivate? I... I can cultivate!"
Unable to wait any longer, he began trying to cultivate. With every breath he took, the primordial energy of heaven and earth around him seemed to answer a summons, flooding toward him. Lin Yi felt power fill his entire body, as though the whole world lay within his grasp.
"Hahaha, I can finally cultivate! I, Lin Yi, am no longer useless!" Lin Yi laughed loudly, his voice echoing through the courtyard, brimming with confidence and heroic spirit.
And all of this was merely the beginning of his path to defy fate and rewrite his destiny...
