"How long until the Kree fleet reaches Earth?"
Howard asked.
Alvin turned to look at Mar-Vell.
No one understood the speed of the Kree Empire Fleet better than Mar-Vell, a Kree scientist.
"About three months at the slowest," he said after a quick mental calculation. "At the fastest, the Kree Empire's fleet could reach the Solar System in just one month."
"One month?! That fast?!"
His answer exceeded Howard's expectations.
He had thought humanity would have several years, perhaps even a decade or more, to prepare.
But now that timeline had been drastically shortened. They might have only a little over a month to prepare!
One month... that was practically upon them!
"No!" Howard's expression changed dramatically. He slammed a hand onto the table and glared at Mar-Vell, gritting his teeth. "We're out of time. We have to prepare for battle as soon as possible!"
Originally, he had planned to take his time persuading Peggy Carter.
Now, clearly, there was no time for that.
"Come with me." Howard's voice was urgent. Ever since learning that the Kree Empire's fleet could reach the Solar System in as little as a month, he had been unwilling to waste a single second. "We need to activate our highest-level war contingency plan immediately!"
"Of course, Mr. Howard."
Alvin rose calmly. This was in line with his plan. "I'll do everything I can to help humanity through this crisis."
