Pym was just about to ask what he meant by the last Avenger.

Peter Parker seemed to shudder, his gaze snapping toward the distance. He gestured for Pym to be quiet and lowered his voice. "Shh... I know you have a lot of questions. So do I. But right now, we need to get out of here first."

Pym instinctively followed Spider-Man's gaze.

Then he saw a horrifying sight.

The Statue of Liberty was down on all fours like a beast. Beneath its crown of twisted tentacles was a face of indeterminate gender, its beauty almost aggressive. The corners of its eyes swept up toward its ears, and its lips were so full they had split open.

Pink saliva trickled down its jawline.

It pooled in little puddles atop the statue's enormous breasts, then flowed along the patterns of scales covering its body and seeped into the crevices, as though it were greedily swallowing something.

And those eyes, the statue's eyes... were staring straight at them!

"Don't look into its eyes!" Peter Parker snarled under his breath, panting rapidly as he clamped down hard on the back of Pym's neck.

His strength was astonishing. The pain made Pym's whole body jolt.

"Don't stare at that thing for too long. It'll corrupt you!" Peter whispered. "It's already spotted

us. Quick, come with me! We need to get out of here!"

"Fuck, it... it actually moved!" Pym felt his understanding of reality being overturned again and again. "What the hell is that thing?!"

"It is indeed a 'hellish thing.'" Peter Parker sighed. "But this is our world. A completely chaotic, lawless, goddamned world."

With that, he patted Pym's shoulder. "All right, Mr. Original Ant-Man. Please shrink down and climb aboard. We need to go... or we won't be able to leave at
