He had to admit, Norman had been pretty underhanded in dumping the blame on him. But when it came to dealing with the aftermath, he'd handled everything perfectly.
For one thing, he'd given up shares in the Osborn Group. It might not have seemed like much, but a personal stake of 5% was enough to give Alvin some influence within the company. More than that, it tied the two of them closely together.
Secondly, Norman had voluntarily given up his share of Vought International, which meant he was willing to relinquish control.
But the more Alvin thought about it, the more he appreciated Norman's shrewd experience and foresight. He knew that the more influence he held early on, the more easily Alvin could force him out later.
So he'd taken this opportunity to make his position clear to Alvin.
