Given: A bard's ceiling depended on the strength of his teammates.
Now suppose his strongest teammate vanished because of a spell.
What was the result?
"What else can I say?"
Tang Qi knew the other man couldn't really take Wolf's head.
He gritted his teeth and forced himself to assess the situation as it took a sudden turn for the worse.
"Did he not cast Arcane Eye, or does he actually have two Fourth Ring Spell Slots?"
Banishment spell: a Fourth Ring Abjuration School spell.
It sent a creature the caster could see to a harmless plane, where the target was incapacitated for one minute. When the spell ended, the target reappeared in the space it had occupied before being banished.
If the target was not native to this plane, it was banished back to its original home.
The fact that the man had banished the Dwarf—the only one who had managed to hurt him so far—
meant he intended to settle everything before that minute was up.
And he still had at least two Third Ring spells at his disposal.
If he had prepared Fireball, reducing the entire camp to ashes would hardly be a problem.
But he hadn't done it yet.
Was that because all his remaining spells required concentration?
Apart from a gifted few, most Spellcasters couldn't maintain concentration on two spells at once.
And Banishment spell already occupied one of those slots.
Perhaps the situation wasn't quite as bad as Tang Qi had imagined.
"Quit playing dead, Kuru!"
Tang Qi struck a chord, his song quickening with the sudden shift in the battle.
"Forgive my cutting words, but a descendant of Giant Dragons should never grovel so low!
"Don't be a coward begging for mercy. This is your chance to prove your courage to your ancestors!"
