The tall, majestic city walls loomed in the distance, and Fanxing and the other Paladins finally breathed a sigh of relief.
After traveling for so many days, they had finally arrived at Alchemy City.
Fanxing raised his right hand in a gesture, and the Order of the Guilty Knights uniformly slowed down before quickly coming to a stop.
They had come as official representatives, bearing the dignity of the Lyne Empire, so they could not enter Alchemy City looking dusty and travel-worn.
A sudden rain poured down from the sky, drenching the heavily armored Paladins to the bone.
The rain had been created with magic, washing away most of the dirt and dust on their bodies.
Combined with simple spells such as Shine, the sacred armor produced by the Lyne Empire glittered brilliantly in the sunlight. In an instant, they went from country bumpkins from the countryside to noble Paladin lords.
Then they maintained an unhurried pace as they walked toward Alchemy City.
The closer they got to the city, the more they could sense its prosperity.
Even though Alchemy City had recently fallen into an economic crisis, there were still plenty of merchant caravans coming and going, while the airships in the sky were packed together like a swarm.
Yet even amid the dense crowds, the Order of the Guilty Knights remained the most dazzling presence.
Before they reached Alchemy City's enormous gates, a huge airship had already forced its way through the crowd and landed in front of them.
A richly dressed alchemist stepped down from the airship and said to the group of Guilty Knights, "Welcome, everyone. I am Gustavo Flynn. On behalf of the Alchemist Council, I welcome you all to Alchemy City."
Fanxing knew that name. Gustavo Flynn was the Alchemist Council's Sixth Seat.
