Hearing the news from the temporary command center at the scene, Li Bai, who had already entered the apartment building, gave a thumbs-up to the man and dog quietly approaching.
"Xiao Wang, good luck!"
Xiao Wang nodded at Li Bai, took a deep breath, and stepped into the building.
The wanted criminal was hiding on the fourth floor. Li Bai could easily climb the gas pipe running up the outside of the building and slip straight in through a window. He wouldn't even need to use the door. Then, while the suspect was stunned and off guard, a casual snap of his fingers would settle things.
But this was a training opportunity specially prepared for Xiao Wang. If he managed to make the arrest, he would have experienced another major operation.

Police dog Land Rover had been trained as a military working dog. He was completely different from ordinary pet dogs that barked wildly at the first sign of trouble. He remained silent throughout, and after entering the building, even kept his footsteps as light as possible.
Xiao Wang held the leash in one hand and his pistol in the other, following close behind with great care.
The man and dog crept upstairs. Of course, he wasn't alone: four armed SWAT officers followed him, one of them carrying a heavy battering ram.
Unless a door had a deadbolt, an ordinary one couldn't withstand more than two or three blows. It would either burst open or buckle. Besides battering the door down, they could also pick the lock. They had two plans and would use whichever suited the situation.
Li Bai was at the very back. He was their third line of insurance.
With
