Meijiao
Meijiao, located in the outskirts of Huxi City, quickly became lively after a deserted hill was leased.
Hundreds of workers and all kinds of machinery swarmed over the hill. More than a dozen enormous "monster claws" (excavators) dug and clawed at the eastern and western sides, making a tremendous racket for an entire month. They forcibly leveled the whole hill and covered it again with a thick layer of improved soil.
The basic construction of this first phase alone burned through more than thirty million yuan, barely exceeding the original budget. That was only because they had sourced materials locally whenever possible and saved quite a bit on costs.
As a partner, Xiao Jiangnan had been unable to contribute more after investing ten million at the start. Li Bai covered the shortfall.
The one hundred million yuan in registered capital of Yongling Agriculture Co., Ltd. was completely spent on the construction of buildings and roads in the second phase, as well as landscaping, planting, and basic breeding projects in the third phase. They had even put in more than ten million extra.
Including Xiao Jiangnan's money, Li Bai had poured more than one hundred million into the project.
The annual routine operating and maintenance costs would be around five hundred thousand yuan. To break even, they would have to wait at least another two years.
As for recouping the investment, that would take at least ten years. According to Ma Jing, the manager of Yongling Agriculture Co., Ltd., the initial renovation investment had been far too large. If they could recover the costs within twenty years, they would already have cause to thank heaven.
From an investment perspective, this was completely a money-losing deal.
How many twenty-year periods did a person have in life? Who could afford to wait
