Rainy Season
"You don't believe me?"
Li Bai could see the doubt on Diana's face. It practically said, "Are you messing with me?"
He continued, "The families in the Dragon Knight Order each owe me a favor. If you ever want their help, just give them my name and put the favor on my tab. I can ask them for any kind of help. The Bohr family paid me back recently, but the others still owe me."
No wonder Diana didn't believe him. The Dragon Knight Order's families weren't exactly a bunch of saints. If they weren't going around bullying people, everyone else was already counting their blessings. How could anyone bully them, especially Li Xiao Bai, all by himself? Was he joking?
Diana covered her mouth, laughing. She didn't want to keep arguing with Li Bai about it. Even if she won, there'd be no point.
As a clever woman, she chose to change the subject before they both ended up feeling awkward.
"Tell me how you prayed for rain instead. What spell did you recite?"
"I knew you wouldn't believe me. You could ask the Dragon Knight Order and find out whether I'm telling the truth."
Li Bai wasn't surprised by Diana's reaction at all. He looked up at the sky. It was overcast, and the air was hot and stuffy.
The weather had been like this for many days in a row. The sky stayed gloomy, but the rain never came. It wasn't until three or four in the afternoon that the sun would tentatively show its face, only to sink below the horizon less than two hours later.
If the weather hadn't been like this, he wouldn't have been watering the vegetable garden now.
Otherwise, watering in the blazing sun would probably scald all the vegetables
