Protecting Li Bai's interests was protecting the interests of the friendly allied tribes. Naturally, those Wizards would fight with everything they had. Without saying a word, they would beat you until your face bloomed like peach blossoms.
The grand scene that unfolded during the manor meeting was unexpected, yet still entirely within reason.
In fact, from the day the tavern officially opened, everyone's interests had already become tied together. If one suffered, all suffered; if one prospered, all prospered.
And yet that damn Li Bai hadn't taken it seriously at all. He casually mixed his sloppily home-brewed cheap liquor with expensive imported alcohol meant for showing off, while the drinking snacks were pig's head meat and fried peanuts... Damn it, was this really what he was serving the foreign masters?
It clearly didn't look like he intended to do serious business.
If that had been all, it wouldn't have mattered!
If this business could barely hold on for a year or so, then once this ramshackle shed went bust and completed its historical mission, it would at least count as having given those dark-skinned locals some sort of explanation.
After all, Li Bai's mission in Africa with the peacekeeping force had a time limit. He wasn't putting down roots in Africa or going to the countryside to alleviate poverty.
At most, he would be there for a year before rotating back home.
By then, those indigenous tribes would each follow their own fate. No matter how much more help they needed, Li Bai, ten thousand miles away, probably wouldn't be able to do much.
